Ponies of Miklaengi is based on the book by Lonzo Anderson. A visually stunning film set in the Icelandic countryside where the winter snow has melted and the land is turning green once more. Gumi and his sister, Annie, have been searching with their horses for three lost sheep. They must proceed slowly, however, because Annie's horse, Hekla, is close to her foaling time. Their search leads them far from home through the wilds of Iceland. Suddenly, there is an earthquake, and how the children survive the earthquake and protect Hekla when her foal is born makes an exciting and moving story.
