The first, “Manimals", deals with the ownership of exotic animals by city-dwellers. Beginning on a humorous note, we experience the sights and sounds of people living with every kind of exotic pet imaginable. Later on, we begin to see others who are not so responsible with the care of these animals. Soon we begin to realize that a contradiction exists between the romantic fantasies of the owner and the broken, dispirited creatures we can plainly see. Raising many important issues concerning the motivations and intentions of these owners of exotic animals, Robin Lehman has created a powerful commentary on our consumer society and how it affects our attitudes toward nature.

The second, “The End of the Game", provides a detailed view of the mutuality of animal life filmed in natural jungle habitats. Filmed in Zaire, Kenya and Tanzania, this documentary takes the viewer from deep inside an anthill, to the majestic giraffes suckling their young. African storms, dung beetle ritual dances, duels for supremacy, feeding time and playtime all end as the animals disappear one by one at the sound of a rifle shattering the existing magic of life.
