  • Additional information

Two thousand years ago, a people fleeing danger took refuge in these mountains. To survive, they had to defy the steep slopes. They soon invented terraced rice paddies. The discovery spread and the Emperor of China came to reward them. Amazed by the landscape they created, he called them the Mountain Sculptors. They weren’t heard from again. Grand Dragon is their seer. He interrogates the wind, the mountains and the springs. From his buffalo’s hoof prints, he deciphers the message from the spirit of nature. This year they are going to sculpt the Yellow Mountain. Hundreds of villagers will climb in a line up the mountain to transform it.

This is part of the "Lord of the Animals" series, which presents amazing stories of human and animal coexistence from around the world. Discover the warm and trusting relationships and the ancient traditions, passed down through generations, that have permanently linked humans to animals of nearly every description.
