Read Across America Celebrating Dr. Seuss's Birthday

March 2 is an important day to celebrate reading culture thanks to the infamous Dr. Seuss. This year, he will be 113 years old and though he isn’t with us, his legacy continues to shine. Dr. Seuss is the man who made learning fun and motivational. He has helped many students develop deep and insatiable quest for knowledge that has directly and indirectly contributed to any development we will ever boast of. Indeed, great was the man and greater is his work. It is for these reasons and more that we at Phoenix Learning Group celebrate his birthday in grand style- as is our culture!

In accordance with Dr. Seuss’ legacy, we believe learning can be much more fun and yield better results if it can stir from our insides at an early age. Of course, over the course of years, there have been revised editions of this great man’s works. However, the man himself and his inclinations can only be truly discovered and appreciated from the undiluted versions of his creative pieces. Therefore, to celebrate his birthday and further ingrain his legacy, we are offering discount on our collection of films. The Dr. Seuss’ collections we have included timeless classics such as:

  • The Cat in the Hat
  • Dr. Seuss on the Loose
  • Green Eggs and Ham
  • The Hoober-Bloob Highway
  • The Lorax
  • The Sneetches
  • The Zax

With this collection, children will be exposed to the creative and magical world of Dr. Seuss and they will not only learn essential life lessons, they will also enjoy dynamic discussions through the various themes depicted in each animated program. This is a perfect opportunity that libraries, educators, parents, guardians, school administrations and other stakeholders can key into to build the intellectual and mental faculties of children and prepare them for responsible adulthood.

Dr. Seuss’ birthday goes beyond a day to celebrate and remember that great man, it is also a day when we celebrate a major milestone that his livelihood achieved and that is the culture of reading. National Education Association found March 2nd a worthy day to call on every child from every community to participate in the annual reading motivation and awareness program. This program is a fun way for students to see reading as much more than something they must do to get by in school. Excitement always builds up to this day as teachers, librarians, politicians, athletes, actors, parents, teenagers and many more in towns and cities come together for ‘Read Across America’. The first celebration held in 1998 and it has since become a tradition to celebrate the beloved children’s author.

Today, there can’t be a proper celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday if there is no remembrance of his works and what he stands for. “Read Across America” is a proof of that as it can’t be dissociated from the influence of Dr. Seuss. Nevertheless, the best way to celebrate the icon is to connect with him and Phoenix Learning Group makes this easily possible through their discount on the Dr. Seuss 7 Timeless Classic Collection.
