“More and Less” presents the general concepts of more and less — numerically and quantitatively. Viewers are introduced to the symbols <, >, and =, and will learn how to compare and order objects according to size, mass, or quantity. The program uses familiar objects from the worlds of architecture and transportation, as well as items from nature, as it illustrates techniques for determining whether there is more or less of one thing or another.
Part of the nine-program “Math in Our Lives” series, which uses practical examples and realistic models to provide students with a sensible and accessible context for mathematical concepts.
