Gaston has been raising pigs for sixty years. He tames a handful of them and sells them to his neighbors. He keeps only one for himself, and that one is Kiki. Gaston is now hunting truffles with the two-year-old Kiki. Kiki has come to weigh two hundred kilos, and is as powerful as a bull. He has a prodigious nose that can smell the most beautiful truffles around. Gaston is attached to him. Kiki follows him everywhere and when Gaston lets him out in the morning, the huge animal rubs his cheek against Gaston’s leg. Gaston should have parted with him long ago. Kiki has become uncontrollable. His gluttony is beyond imagination; Gaston spends his days running after his devastating hurricane.
This is part of the “Lord of the Animals” series, which presents amazing stories of human and animal coexistence from around the world.
