A four part DVD, “Ocean Life”, explores a variety of life beneath sea level.
The first film, “Undercurrents”, captures some of the brilliance of marine life. Through Lehman’s camera the viewer is able to see many things: flashing water snakes, and a fight between two crabs wrestling over a swordfish. The recurrent theme of beauty and violence is proven to be fundamental to the underwater world.
The second in the series, “Sea Creatures”, is set to an imaginative soundtrack as we witness an unusual parade of life in the lower depths of the ocean. Zebra striped fish, crabs, and jellyfish are just a few of the creatures captured on film.
Also highly visually stimulating, is Lehman’s third film in the series, “Nightlife”, which proves to go even further into the deep. We get to view underwater life at very close range.
The fourth film, “See”, takes the viewer to the Democratic Republic of Sudan and films amazingly “human” sea creatures. Once again Lehman gives a startling view of life in the ocean.
