French Revolution The Preacher explores the poorest parish in Paris, St. Nicholas, which produced the Revolution’s most radical priest, Jacques Roux. Charged with revolutionary excess, he urges all to carry on the fight until God’s perfection is reached. Roux’s goal is to create a wary populace, “a free people—ungovernable.”
This is part of a series called The French Revolution: Revolutionary Witness, examining the consequences of the 1789 upheaval in France and all that followed. Produced by the BBC. A Coronet release.
