Annie and the Old One tells the tale of the Old One, who is the beloved grandmother of a little Navajo girl named Annie. Annie loves to hear the many stories her grandmother tells, but one day the Old One reveals a sad truth: When the new rug on the loom is finished, she will go to Mother Earth. Sadness comes to Annie because she cannot imagine life without her grandmother, and she plots to keep the rug from completion.
